Contents Listing - Articles & Features in this issue
MILLE MIGLIA 2006 - Top Gear Editor Michael Harvey straps himself into a Jaguar D-type to play his part in the classic car race of all classic car races. Then hotfoots it back in the next best thing - the XK.
HIDE AND SEEK - Bentley's Arnage Limousine has a Deep D - or, to you and us, a really wide D-pillar that rear passengers can hide behind. Now you see us, now you don't. Hard cheese, paparazzi!
THE BIG TEST - Diesel superminis are the way forward. Economical, practical and still fun to drive, but which is top of the tree? We pit the Renault Clio against the new Peugeot 207 and Fiat Crande Punto. Clash of the tiny titans.
ONE OF A KIND - It's not every day that you're invited to the world's most exclusive concorso d'eleganza at the legendary Villa d'Este. Mind you, it's not every day that the Rolls 101EX is on show.
TAILOR-MADE E12 - The 612 never looked quite right did it? So what are you going to do? Write out a blank cheque and send Pininfarina back to the drawing board? TG meets a man who did exactly that.
SKY'S THE LIMIT - If your imagination is as limitless as your funds, you can have a lot of fun at a coachbuilder's expense. And they'll just smile politely, give you an eye-watering quote, and knock you up a matching straightjacket.
ITALIAN STALLION - Paul Horrell - a candidate for man with the world's worst job - slides into the driving seat of the Ferrari 599 GTB. And loves it in a 'must have one' kinda way. So, he'll want a raise then.
BRUTE FORCE - Out of one supercar and straight into another. It gets worse for PH as he tries to find enough road to test the new Lamborghini Murcielago to its ludicrous limits. He succeeds. Big time.
ON THE BLOWER - Porsche's new 911 Turbo goes really, really fast. Faster, in fact, than an HOOcc superbike - we know because Tom Ford raced one in it And won. And then spent the rest of the day telling anyone who'd listen.

METAL:
ALFA SPIDER - The latest incarnation of Alfa's open sports car is based on the Giugiaro-styleci Brera. Only Pininfarina gets the credit here.
BMW CONCEPT - Inspired by the 1940 Mille Miglia-winning 328, the Concept Coupe is a Marmite BMW - you either love it or hate it.
NEW VAUXHALL CORSA - Wow, it's a mini-Astra. At least that means cool coupe styling and sweeping lines. This is a Vauxhall that could be OK.
RACING STRIPES - Racing is all about style, so even if you're not on the podium, you can still make the news with a good paintjob. We remember some of the best.

FACES:
CLARKSON - What's the difference between a Corvette Z06 and Uma Thurman? Jeremy explains.
MOISTBOURNE - Summer's here and so out come the classic cars. Simon joins his local club for a run.
JAMES MAY - Children change your opinion of everything... even cars.
PAUL HORRELL - PH delves into the mystery that is automated systems in cars. What's the point of them?
VESPA'S 60TH - Pizza delivery boys rejoice -your transport is 60 years old. Has Domino's really been around that long?

DRIVES:
CAR OF THE MONTH: VOLKSWAGEN EOS - Passat from the rear, Golf from the front - this is VW's first attempt at a CC. And we like.

- MERCEDES E63 AMG
- SUBARU IMPREZA *D'

TOP GEAR:
BLINDING, MATE - TG's sunglasses special heralds the start of summer. Plus a mini quad, clever satnav and the coolest Lego kit ever - an F430.

REGULARS:
OUR LEADER - Goes mental - environment
LETTERS - You write 'em, we print 'em. If they say nice things about us.
Q&A - Michael Vaughan: England's Ashes-winning captain talks.
SUBSCRIPTIONS - TG delivered to your door before it's in the shops. Bliss.
I WAS THERE...Recalling the Porsche supercar that won the Pharaohs Rally.
