Go A-J-S!: Extra power from the engine, a new powerful front brake and Teledraulic' front forks. These are the outstanding features of the new 250 c.c. Sapphire Super Sports. A large carburettor of 1 1/8" choke diameter, a lengthened Inlet tract and an enormous inlet valve contribute to the extra power output. The connecting rod is of special hightensile steel, the crankpin diameter is considerably larger than that fitted to the standard models and forged steel flywheels are fitted. The front hub is a huge polished light alloy casting and the powerful brake has a lining area of 13^'. Scrambles-type Teledraulic' front forks are standard. Polished alloy engine parts, chromed tank, mudguards and chainguard enhance the appearance of an already very attractive lightweight motorcycle.
