Dave Brumstead completes his review of the Models by Design Trawler Cat which is a super project being a bit different from the usual mono-hulled scale model boats and offering as it does, huge scope for weathering and personalisation into a particular style of full-size craft. There is also a report from the late-season Blackpool model boat show. Included are the usual regulars, but no Gallery this month because I thought you would rather see some of the award winning entries from the 2012 Model Engineer Exhibition. Sadly, this is the last time that David Wiggins will appear regularly in this magazine with his Collectors' Corner Minis series which now draws to a close. He has written his column in this magazine for many years and has received a considerable volume of positive correspondence about the models and the model making era that he favours. I extend my thanks to him for his contribution to the success of this magazine and wish him well, now that he is officially retired. However, I am also able to confirm that two new regular columns by established and well known model boating enthusiasts will shortly be introduced to these pages with the first starting in the April issue of Model Boats and which will also I am sure be of interest to readers, whatever their specific model making interest.
