March Cover: The specialist Search and Rescue (SAR) version of the Westland Sea King, the HAR Mk3, is currently being introduced to RAF service by No 202 Squadron, whose operational Flights are deployed to key locations around the coasts of the British Isles. A visit to RAF Boulmer in Northumberland during December 1978 found the Squadron's 'A' Flight in the process of working-up on its new Sea Kings, and about to relinquish its long-serving Whirlwind HAR10 helicopters. The cover photo shows Sea King HAR3 XZ594 at Boulmer, and it previews the first hand report on pages 114-118 of this issue which describes the great improvement in SAR capability offered by this new, Mk3, variant of the Westland helicopter.
