The aircraft enjoyed export success and an American user was Air Illinois. Main picture shows one of their machines flying over the industrial haze of Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan. Inset: The military version for the RAF had a modified rear fuselage with rear loading doors and ramp. In this form it was known as the Andover C.1, but XS605, illustrated, was one of those converted to an E.3 and used by 115 Sqn.
