FiRST PARAGRAPHS OF BUILD ARTICLE:

Surprisingly, perhaps, to competition enthusiasts at least, many more engines of under 3.5cc are sold than over, and an enormous number of these are around the 1.5cc mark. People who build models for sport ted to go for the smaller capacities; some of them would try competition work if it didn't mean going for a larger engine. The most likely competition is R/C steering, but nowadays the most popular, and the most fun, is multi-racing

It has been shown that in club events it is rarely the fastest model which wins in multi-racing where heats are of 10 mins. or more/ Reliability and consistency are all important and avoiding the necessity of coming in to refuel can also be a factor. There seems no reason why a small, fast and manouverable model should not be able to give a good account of itself, and if the model is also responsive enough to make a good job of a steering course the dual-purpose capability may well prove attractive to builders who have so far not ventured far into competition work

In Sniper we have endevoured to produce just such a model. As drawn it will accommodate any 1/5cc motor and any sport-type 2.5cc glow motor. For hotter 2.5cc motors we would suggest adding 1" wide trim tabs 1.5" long on each outer corner of the transom, flush with the bottom in the usual way.
