Cover: Tom Upshall, our Southern Region footplateman featured this month in Steam Days, who operated from Bournemouth shed from 1950 to 1967, worked on the footplate of many engines during his footplate days, from the diminutive 'B4' 0-4-0Ts to the Bulleld Pacifics and 'Black Fives'. This month's front cover shows Bulleld 'Battle of Britain' Pacific No 34064 Fighter Command, complete with the oblong Giesi ejector with which it was fitted In May 1962, near Lymington Junction, Brockenhurst, on a down express on 27 July 1963.
