Cover: In this month's issue of STEAM DAYS magazine we feature, in colour, steam-hauled trains on some of the former LNER lines in Yorkshire. Leeds Central station was very much a part of the old LNER, but by the time Stanier 4MT 2-6-4T No 42622 was pictured there in March 1964 the station was part of the North Eastern Region. The ex-LMS 2-6-4Ts were used on many of the Bradford portions of the Leeds expresses and were an everyday part of the scene here and at Bradford Exchange station.
