The Union Steamship Company of New Zealand passenger ferry Wahine, 4,436grt, completed by Barclay Curie & Co., Glasgow, in 1913. The ship remained in service until 1949 and served during the two World Wars. In August. 1951. the ship left Wellington with troops for Korea, and on Aug. 15, she was lost when she went aground on Masella Island, in the Arafura Sea. All the troops were rescued.
