Cover: This month we take a look at the BR Western Region's camping coaches. In this scene five camping coaches occupy the siding installed in the winter of 1958/59 alongside the up main line at Dawlish Warren. Out of the picture to their right another three vehicles could be found in the remaining siding in a former goods yard which had been remodelled for the exclusive use of camping coaches. On 29 July 1961 ex-Great Western 'Hall', No 5901 Hazel Hall, is seen accelerating away from a signal check with the 11.00am Newquay to York express and passing the camping coach site.
