Cover: This month in Steam Days we provide a pictorial tribute to the routes of the Cheshire Lines Committee. At Godley Junction, south-east of Manchester, the CLC line left the GCR's Woodhead route and headed towards Woodley and Stockport. This scene was captured near Tiviot Dale, Stockport, where Stanier '8F' 2-8-0 No 48356 is seen creating a great deal of smoke as it climbs towards Woodley with empties for Godley Junction on 19 April 1968, during the last months of steam.
