As an appetiser, our cover picture shows Peppercorn 'A2' Pacific No 60532 Blue Peter in charge of the 13.30 Aberdeen to Glasgow 3-hour express on 1 September 1966 as it heads south of Stonehaven. A long-term resident of Aberdeen (Ferryhill) shed No 60532 was saved from the cutter's torch and has seen two spells of work back on the main line, but a third major overhaul is required before it can run again.
