Cover: This month In Steam Days we take a trip with Fireman Donald Palmer over the Settle & Carlisle line with the 'Long Meg' anhydrite trains, which worked full southbound to Widnes in Lancashire, and empty back to Long Meg and New Biggin quarries, changing crews at Blea Moor. The last '9F' 2-10-0 fired by Donald on one of these trains was No 92058, in August 1967, seen here in September 1967 booming from under the bridge at Ais Gill with an up anhydrite train.
