In recent years, all units were based at Ayr and worked between Glasgow, Ayr and Stranraer. When introduced in 1959 all vehicles had corridor connections, but on some units the gangways were removed from the leading end of the motor coaches. This Class 126 is nearing Kilgrammie Forest with a train from Glasgow to Stranraer on 18 September 1981.
