Cover - Jon Michel is an interesting project where a commercial kit,in this case the Caldercraft Alte Liebe, is converted into a 'Gentlemans Tug'. The builder John De Broske calls himself an impressionist model boat builder; he builds a model in the style he would like to own as a full size version! The advantage with the model is that he can take it home in the back of his car and does not have any mooring fees.
Plan is of a ship specially designed to carry heavy objects for the power industry, it's called the Aberthaw Fisher and should make an interesting model to build.Other build articles include the Jon Michel; a gentlemana€ s tugboat based on the Caldercraft Alte Liebe kit, and HMS Ceres, a light cruiser built during the First World War.We also have the build of the Thames Sailing barge Westmorland. From time to time we publish factual articles of full size boats and ships to inspire the experienced scratch build modeller to consider a different or perhaps a first model to be built of the vessel, this month we publish an article on the full size square-rigger Wanderer.
