Our new feature of View From The Bridge is designed so that experienced modellers and even newcomers to the hobby can be inspired to build a model based on a full size vessel. The Solent is one of, if not the busiest, stretch of water in the UK not only for commercial shipping and ferries but for many pleasure craft and preserved ships who visit the area regularly. This view looking towards the naval base in Portsmouth was taken from the bridge of one of the ferries plying between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight and features many vessels of interest to MMI readers, i.e. pleasure yachts, tugs and a visiting USS submarine.
