This is a two-sheet plan for a detailed scale model of a Cygnus 44 inshore fishing boat that can be finished by the builder in a number of different versions. The plan was drawn by the prolific and highly respected model boat designer Jim Pottinger and was originally published in Marine Modelling magazine.
The prototype vessel upon which this model is based is a familiar and commonplace sight around the UK coast, but also one which is endlessly-fascinating in it's complexity and variation, with each example being unique in it's detail and personality. The experienced modeller in particular will be able to 'go to town' by adding as much detail and realism they wish, and by doing-so produce a model entirely suitable for static display as well as working operation
The plan as-drawn will result in a 28" long model, which provides ample oppportunity for an imposing and highly-detailed without becoming cumbersome or impractical. The choice of propulsion and control equipment is left up to the builder.
Note that both sheets of this plan have been combined together for the purposes of both digital reproduction & physical reprint here

The plans show a heavy-displacement hull with forecastle and forward wheelhouse, and whilst not intended to depict any particular prototype the drawings illustrate a typical arrangement rigged for inshore trawling. This could be quickly changed to suit whatever mode of fishing the builder wished, whether fishing for demersal fish, scallops, crabs, clams or prawns etc
