Instead they have the NOTAR system which uses pressurised air to provide anti-torque and directional control. Bottom: First impression, officially released by the US Air Force, of the YF-22, which is the Lockheed/Boeing/General Dynamics contender for the ATF programme. It is approaching rollout and first flight for an evaluation programme due to be completed by April 1991.
